HAFIL GUSNI SANTANA AJI

COORDINATING MINISTRY FOR INSFRASTRUCTURE & REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT, POLICY ANALYST - INDONESIA - ASLIP 2026

Hafil Gusni Santana Aji is currently a Policy Analyst within the Assistant Deputy for Maritime and Air Connectivity under the Deputy for Connectivity Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Indonesia. He is responsible for conducting policy studies, analyses and evaluations based on evidence to support the formulation of public policies. This includes problem identification, data collection, drafting policy recommendations, and monitoring policy implementation to enhance the quality of public services.

How His Role Supports Inclusive Infrastructure Development

He currently oversees several priority programs: One is the monitoring and evaluation of 36 international airports in Indonesia following the Ministry of Transportation Decree No. 37/2025. Secondly, he leads the Implementation of the Presidential Regulation No.12/2025 on addressing specific conditions for the normalization of shipping channels at Pulau Baai Port in the Bengkulu Province, and the acceleration of development in Enggano Island for 2025-2026 period, specifically in transportation and logistics improvements. Lastly, he manages the maritime and connectivity infrastructure cooperation with partner countries such as Russia, the Netherlands, and Norway.

From engaging deeply with these issues, it has provided him with a comprehensive understanding that openness in fostering mutually beneficial international cooperation is essential in formulating national infrastructure development policies. As infrastructure continues to shape Indonesia’s future, it is expected to ensure that the benefits of development extend beyond Java (known as the primary engine of Indonesia’s national growth), but also expanding the opportunity to Indonesia’s more underdeveloped, frontier and outermost regions.
